It is with great pleasure that I write this forward for my disciple, Alan Orr, on his new instructional series on Wing Chun Kuen. Alan has produced a quality instructional series on Chinese Boxing, the Structure blueprint, Siu Nim Tao set, and Iron body training for combat conditioning and more to come. The lessons are professionally filmed, and concise, to convey the details and methods.
Wing Chun Kuen is his lifelong passion, in addition to being an expert in Strength and Conditioning, Brazilian JiuJitsu, Boxing, Wrestling and Escrima, he co-owns a gym and trains contenders in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, Boxing and Grappling in New Zealand. Â Alan is fully qualified to teach my complete system of Wing Chun.
For the Wing Chun enthusiast, this will give vital information to step up his game, and aid in detail and fine points of the art. This instructional series is one that will be a welcome addition to practitioners that want to enhance their martial arts skills.

I don’t usually write testimonials for others but will make an exception for Sifu Alan Orr who is one of the very few in the Wing Chun world that I really respect for his skill as well as knowledge, this online program is of a high standard and offers the possibility to take your Wing Chun to another level I highly recommend anybody that loves Wing Chun Kuen regardless of lineage to check it out.
Sifu Sergio Iadarola is the founder of the IWKA an association spread worldwide in over 14 countries, he is the author of the book “The Six core elements the SLT and history of Wing Chun” and also known as the living encyclopedia of Wing Chun.
Alan Orr Sifu has been a leading light in not only Wing Chun Kuen but the wider martial arts community as a whole and for many years and has guided my path throughout its history. Knowledge and wisdom are seldom found in the same place and openness with the knowledge and wisdom is even rarer. Â in this program a student is able to have access to a complete learning system and a lifetime of knowledge is just a click away. my personal favorites are the extremely comprehensive forms breakdown with each section of each form broken down into the smallest detail, as well as the reissued Chi Sao and Chin Na series from back when I was first starting in Wing Chun Kuen. I feel lucky to have had the pleasure of passing on my teacher’s wisdom and knowledge around the world through seminars and workshops and am thankful to be called a student of my teacher, mentor and friend Alan Orr.

Learning and the opportunities for learning have dramatically changed in the 21st Century with more and more students supplementing their training with video instruction online. Modern technology as an aid to learning is a growing industry and one than can benefit the student. I use the word ‘can’ because not all instructors or instruction is of sufficient quality and can be counterproductive. In order for the student to benefit and progress there are a number of requirements:
1. The instructor is qualified and knowledgeable in the complete art.
2. The instructor is able the teach, coach, analyse and evaluate the students needs.
3. The system of delivery is clear and interactive allowing for feedback to drive individual progress
4. There is opportunity for face to face exchanges
I have had the opportunity to review Alan Orr’s web-site and growing development program and can recommend it without reservation. Not only does Alan and his team have the depth of knowledge required but the delivery is open and covers technical areas such as body mechanics, structure and the use of energy that it is extremely rare to find elsewhere. When this technical knowledge is coupled with the practical application found in the videos on the web-site it is truly a mouth watering prospect for any serious practitioner.
The web-site and mentor program has many other advantages in that it is interactive with questions that are answered in writing and by the production of new clips based on feedback. The nature of this interactive learning process makes it stand out from traditional video and web-site courses, with the course being able to evolve organically alongside the needs of the learners.
Finally it is easy to practice the skills on the site and report back as well as attend gatherings, workshops and training camps around the world where other students are practicing the same skills with a common aim.
In short the approach is refreshing, well delivered and can be individualised to such an extent that martial artists of any ability will benefit.

David is Chief Coach in Wing Chun at the University of Nottingham and is not part of the CSL lineage or Alan Orr’s organisation. David has studied martial arts since the late 1970s and Wing Chun since 1980. He has worked in Police Special Projects and Vice, using Wing Chun and Martial Arts in real and dangerous situations. He won National Full Contact Tournaments, fought pro Muay Thai and opened the first ever University BJJ club for Gracie Barra.
David is also a qualified and practicing Head Teacher and educational inspector being involved in the setting up and quality assurance of interactive e-learning for mainstream education and alternative provision in the UK.
In this beautifully organized, in-depth collection of sequential teachings, Alan Orr breaks down, analyses and articulates wing chun body mechanics and mental techniques in a way that I’ve never seen done before. Even the most experienced practitioners will come away from Alan’s material with a new level of detailed understanding that will change the way they train, apply and teach Wing Chun.
Alan has trained full contact/mma fighters for a decade. The Wing Chun Alan is carefully explaining and demonstrating in his video series is informed by the hundreds of fights his fighters have had and all of the lessons learned through those experiences.
I can’t say enough about this comprehensive body of excellent work. As a person who studies and teaches Taiji and Wing Chun privately, in public schools and at the University level, Alan’s work is truly a blessing. I have much more to offer as a result of it. *Highly recommend . Sifu Mike Pekor www.taichali.com
Having trained with many teachers over the years Sifu Alan Orr has always stuck in my mind. He broke my structure effortlessly whilst playing Chi Sau (rolling hands). #Shocked and #Inspired at the same time. Best of luck Sifu looking forward to seeing what I know you have worked really hard on. Can’t wait!

In this and age of self-proclaimed experts and masters, its hard-to-find exponents of the Wing Chun system that have real skill and understanding. Fortunately, a few years ago I came across Alan Orr, a polarizing figure in the kung fu circles. I had heard much about him, and I was compelled to seek him out and find out for myself. What I discovered was a man that had totally immersed himself into the martial arts. Who not only knew his craft theoretically but also practically. Someone that had the humility and foreword thinking to invest his time in other arts and areas of knowledge that would help benefit not only himself but also his students. A thorough teacher and an honorable man. A true Master of the arts. Someone I immediately resonated with and privileged to call my kung fu brother.

” After a first look on the online training lessons, I’m really impressed how they lead to a deep understanding of the movements.
My spontaneous feeling was, that I will learn in many many aspects more surfing 1 hour through the videos, than in my 11 years of regular wing chun training.
As a student and AI of another lineage of wing chun, I feel privileged to get such an deep insight into the CSL System through the online program.
The term system is not a empty talk here. I can naturally integrate the concepts and applications in my martial arts training and was surprised how good they work in any chi sao and sparring situation.
After practicing different other styles, the only experience that comes close to that was, when I had the chance to use my very basic grappling skills to someone complete inexperienced in ground fighting.
Sifu Alan Orr really gave me back my belief in the art of wing chun and the martial arts in general. ”
